Accepting The Sunshine Blogger Award
I could not be more proud to announce that Sane Momma has been selected to receive the Sunshine Blogger Award! This award is given to bloggers who inspire positivity and creativity in the blogging community, something that I strive to do every day here at Sane Momma.
I started Sane Momma with the intention of helping other moms find sanity and focus on self-care. It brings me great joy to know that others in the blogging community have recognized my efforts. I am honored to accept this award and I can’t wait to unveil my nominees!
Above all, I would like to recognize the blog that nominated Sane Momma for this award. Mom’s Cafe Blog serves as a meeting ground where moms can share their experiences, gain knowledge and tips, and read the pick-me-ups that all moms need to hear now and then. Thank you, Mom’s Cafe Blog, for recognizing Sane Momma as a valuable member of the blogging community.
As a rule, all Sunshine Blogger Award recipients must answer a list of questions provided by the blogger who nominated them. I love the questions selected by Mom’s Cafe Blog!
Sane Momma Tells All
1. You’re an amazing blogger! What’s your blog niche?
Thank you! I am SO glad that you feel that way. My blog is primarily focused on life as a Stay at Home mom, but all mom’s can benefit from the content. I have covered everything from physical and mental health for moms to parenting and marriage. My absolute favorite topics are self-care and time management, which often go hand in hand when you are a mom.
2. Which are your blog goals?
As a relatively new blogger, my goals are to reach as many moms as possible. I am happy to say that the growth of Sane Momma in these first few months has been fantastic. I am grateful to my blogging community for helping to make that happen and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
3. Do you have any shows you can’t stop binge watching ?
Ha! If only I had time to binge watch TV! When I do have some downtime, my husband and I usually like to watch movies. More than likely, we will end up watching a Marvel, DC or Star Wars movie, because we are cool like that.
4. How did you begin your blog journey and who do you want to reach?
My blogging journey began shortly after having my son and becoming a stay at home mom. Sane Momma was created as a way for me to help other moms transition into the role of becoming a stay at home mom. I never expected to become one myself and the adjustment was a challenge for me. I love that I have a platform to share my experiences and the methods I have used to overcome my challenges with other moms.
5. If you could choose anywhere in the world to live, where would it be?
I love New England, where I currently live, but I wish I could bring all of my friends and family from the west coast here to live with me!
6. From your experience blogging so far, what advice can you give bloggers who are just starting out?
Don’t forget about the big picture. It’s so easy to get lost in the details or hung up on one area where you are not doing well. Wok on your blog consistently and focus on the areas where you gain the most benefit. When things get tough, remind yourself of why you started blogging in the first place.
7. Do you have any pets?
Unfortunately, no. We recently moved across the country and had to re-home our two dogs. There have been talks about a puppy in the future….
8. Let’s talk desserts…would you rather pie or cake?
Cake all the way. If I’m going to have a cheat meal, I want it to be as sweet as possible, and pie crust just doesn’t cut it for me. That being said, I avoid sweets as much as possible. I finally lost the baby weight and I don’t want to go back!
9. What is your favorite charity, if any?
United Cerebral Palsy – You can visit their site to learn more or donate here.
10. Have you made any blogger friends that you’ve met in real life?
Actually, no! But I would love to in the future. I already feel so connected with some of my fellow bloggers that it seems strange that we’ve never formally met.
11. What would you say is the biggest life goal you have?
My biggest goal is and always will be to provide the best life possible for my son (and any other littles ones that might come into the picture!)
And without further adieu, I would like to announce my nominees for the next Sunshine Blogger Award!
Dianne over at WAHM Cafe provides some really great resources for work at home moms. She also has a new Facebook Group you can join here.
Amber and Melissa of Pen&Parent have beautifully combined blogging and writing with parenting. What more could a mom blogger ask for?
Raising Royalty is a blog about single parenting, homeschooling and raising a large family. As a single mom of 6, I’d say this momma knows a thing or two about parenting!
As a fellow boy mom, I wanted to give a shout out to Laura over at This Mom Blogs. Her blog provides helpful tips and advice for moms in a truly authentic way.
The Imperfect Momma Blog calls itself “a no judgement zone for moms to come to and remind them that they are superstars!” What’s not to love?
Kirsty over at That Noise is Mine has been a great resource on my blogging journey. In addition to blogging, her Blog Mentor Program Facebook Page is a wonderful contribution to the blogging community. Her blog provides readers with what she lovingly refers to as “the hilarity and chaos of [her] life with 4 kids, [her] goals to become a successful business woman and an exciting new journey to find love again.”
Jen at Mighty Mama Bear blogs about “empowering other mums and finding strength through solidarity.” You can also find fun parenting tips and tricks on her site.
This list wouldn’t be complete without including my niche buddy, Sirri of Super Sirrious Mom (get it?) also loves to write about sanity and self-care for moms. I absolutely love the humor she brings to motherhood through her stories.
Pam at Hodge Podge Moments writes inspiring and helpful content for every kind of mom. From personal stories and aspirations to cooking and home organization, she covers all things mom. You can also join the Hodge Podge Moments Community on Facebook to take part in all the fun!
Diana, the brains behind Before and After Baby, created her blog as a way to document her conception journey, pregnancy and, finally, her experiences in parenting. It’s a great place to find posts about all things baby, even if you aren’t a mom yet!
Liz over at The Yooper Mom shares her favorite tips on motherhood, recipes for even the pickiest kids, and managing finances as a mom on a budget. What’s a “Yooper”, you ask? It’s a native or inhabitant of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which is exactly what Liz is!
