Unique Kid’s Birthday Party Invitations Moms Will Love
Graphic design is one of my side hustles as a stay at home mom, so when it comes to picking out stationery, I can be quite particular. While I want to design beautiful invitations that impress friends and family, I also don’t have all day to spend trying to craft the perfect design. I recently tried out a company called Basic Invite and I was more than thrilled with their results. Here’s why…
Quick and Easy
The site is incredibly easy to navigate and the filters in each category make it incredibly easy to find what you are looking for quickly. Unlike other popular stationery sites, I didn’t find myself scrolling for hours to find what I needed. Anything that saves me time these days is a winner in my book.
When you select a design you want, you are able to quickly edit colors, text, and photos. In a matter of minutes, you can have an invitation selected, customized and ordered. Boom! One more task checked off the birthday party to do list!
If you want to add your guest addresses right to the envelope, I’ll talk about how Basic Invite makes this incredibly easy in a moment.

Did I mention that I’m particular about design? Basic Invite allows for some seriously customizable options. Not only can you essentially create a design from scratch, but the designs they offer allow you to customize them with almost unlimited colors and text. The process of customizing your design is simple and allows for instant previews.
This is not something that I have found on other stationery sites and I was very pleased with the ease of this feature. Additionally, they offer over 40 different envelope colors. The best part is that they are peel and seal! No more licking 50 envelopes. (Anyone else remember how George’s fiancé died on Seinfeld? Envelope glue!)
Occasionally, I like to create my own completely custom designs with design software. Basic Invite also allows you to upload your custom design onto a blank template. With the instant preview, you are able to make sure that your design was uploaded and aligned properly. It’s a designers dream.
Hold the Samples in Your Hand
The reason I decided to stop using my previous stationery service was due to the fact that the end result was never what I anticipated. They only offered PDF previews, not real samples. Ultimately, I was unsatisfied with the quality of the product and usually found that the design did not end up looking as I had planned.
Basic Invite allows you to order a printed sample so you can see and touch the actual product before you spend money on your full order. It also comes in an exciting little envelope that makes you feel like you’re getting a present! When companies go out of their way to make the presentation of their products feel special, I am always more inclined to support them. It shows that they truly value their customers.
When I received my first samples, I was blown away by the quality of the product. Even the most basic paper option (signature matte) was higher quality than the products I had ordered from the last place. My favorite paper type was the luxe velvet. I’ll be using this for my upcoming business card purchase, as the quality was fantastic.
Build Your Address Book – FAST
As a busy mom, this next feature is extremely exciting. Basic Invite offers an address capturing service. What this means, is that you can share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other form of social media and request addresses for your guest list! The address request is designed beautifully with a few design options to choose from. Within a couple of minutes, you can set it up and send it out to everyone you need an address from on social media or via email.
Addresses are then automatically stored in your account. Even on future orders, you will have your address book ready to go! When Christmas time rolls around, Basic Invite even offers recipient address printing at no cost on all Christmas card orders.
Everything You Need
Basic Invite has every kind of stationery you could think of, and I want it all! I just ordered samples of my business cards and business stationery and I can’t wait to place an order. In addition to birthday party invites, they also have invitations for baptisms and baby showers, birth announcements, thank you cards, holiday cards and so much more. Their wedding selection is phenomenal. I wish I had known about this site when I was planning my wedding. They even have wedding websites!
If you’re a work at home mom like me, you’ll appreciate the business stationery selection as well. In addition to business cards, they have promotional postcards, brochures and welcome kits that really stand out.

Okay, I have yet to meet a mom who doesn’t love free printables. Normally these are found on Pinterest and often created by bloggers or Etsy shop owners. On the Basic Invite site, they offer free printables that are professionally designed! How cool is that? Some of them are really unique too. They feature gift tags, placemats, party accessories and even some invites and cards that are FREE to print. You can check out the free printables here.
